As most of the Pinzgauer exported to the US origin from the Swiss Army the condition report which has to exist may be of interest.
Before the auction in Thun/Switzerland all trucks which will be offered there are inspected and the result is part of the info which goes into the auction catalog and is handed out to the buyer. If you buy from an importer he should have this paper! It will give you a lot of info about the condition of the truck. This paper looks as follows (translation included/explanation below):
Estimated value is NOT the price the truck was sold for. It’s the starting price at the auction!

What does the rating of a truck mean? V (roadworthy) means that the truck is allowed to be driven on Swiss roads. At the time of inspection all lights are functional, the brakes and wiper work and there is no dripping of oils. The steering, hub bearings and axles are functional and have play within the specified tolerances. There is no rust on structural parts which would make the truck unsafe and the brake lines have no visible damage F (not roadworthy) means that one or more of the above things are defect. What the rating doesn't tell you is the condition of the engine, the gears and clutch or things like brake cylinder condition or wear of any internal component. What does the rest of the paper tell you? In the top section you can see the date the truck was built and it's total km's (divide by ~1.5 for milage). Where ever there is a number or info in the Last Revision it's the last date parts were replaced for the different categories. The "X's" indicate what problem the inspector found with the truck at the date of inspection. These are the things you should look at first when you compare trucks on a lot. Not all Swiss Army trucks are directly imported from US dealers. Nevertheless one should assume that they insist on getting those papers as it would give them a first indication about the trucks condition without taking it apart. Trucks sold between auctions by RUAG (the Swiss company doing the sale) will not come with this paper but the buyer can ask for the service records which contain exactly the same information.
