There’s nothing wrong with the light bulbs of the Pinz (ok, with the exception of the Swiss tail lights). However, all light bulbs have a tendency to fail much faster under vibration. For this LEDs are much more rugged and consume les current. One place to replace the bulbs with LEDs are the license plate lights. Not only will they last much longer, they are also brighter adding to the safety at night. A small printed circuit board with a constant current source and 4 LEDs was designed which fits into the existing housings of the license plate lights. Easy to build and can also be used as interior light for the cab and the bed/rear section. The schematic:
