The winter is gone and the temperatures rise.... With the summer starting the mosquitos come back to life and an open box like the Pinz invites them to invade and bite the “inhabitants”! Especially in a K model where one has to open the windows to let some air come in this is a problem in all those places not fortunate enough to have a hot and dry summer. For overnight stays it also bothers the owners of the rag-top models if they want to enjoy some fresh air and all these gaps let the beasts enter without much resistance. Fortunately there is an easy and inexpensive solution! Buy some fiberglass mosquito nets as they are available in most home improvement stores, get some half inch wide magnetic tapes (found in hardware stores) and glue it all around the perimeter of the mosquito net. To strengthen the construction glue a non magnetic 1/2” tape to the other side of the net just over the magnetic one. Owners of the K-models will only need smaller pieces for the windows. M owners can make big “sheets covering the area between the bedsides and the metal angle above it (which holds the canvas out). A large piece for the rear can be added and naturally some pieces for the front door windows. Here some pictures of the installation in a K:
