Removable Door Tops

Models: ALL, Years: ALL

All Pinzes have very nice doors for offroad use. The tops are only held by 2 bolts and can be removed if it gets too hot. Unfortunately Steyr decided to put some obstacles into the way: the door handles. For unknown reasons they decided to have the weld nuts for the handle bolts in the lower part of the door and quite often the screws are rusted pretty bad into the nuts and some of the nuts rusted loose. Not what you want for easy removal of the door tops....

There’s an easy fix for this problem. Remove the door handles and the door tops. If the weld nuts break loose or the screws won’t come off you have to remove the door lining and attack from inside.
Get eight weld nuts and mount the door handles to the door tops only as shown in the pictures and in the future you only have to remove the two bolts in the door-top corners to take them off. As the gap between the upper and lower part of the doors is known to be rust prone it may be a good idea to remove any rust there and repaint the area. A thin closed cell gasket between the door half’s is a good idea too.
